Charlotte Vere says she believes she can win at the next election after being selected as the Conservative candidate for Brighton Pavilion. Mrs Vere, from southwest London was selected from six finalists in an "open primary" staged by the Brighton Pavilion Conservative Association (BPCA). Mrs Vere, who has been closely involved with the campaigns of environmentally minded millionaire Tory Zac Goldsmith, emerged victorious.

Cryptic Studios' super hero MMO Champions Online has already had one free content update since its September launch. On Tuesday the game gets a second free update that not only adds new perks and costume sets to the MMO but adds a new lair and adventure as well.The update is called Nemesis Confrontation and has your noble player characters fighting to get out of an intergalactic prison to deal with their Nemeses, the alien Gladiators and the creature who gathered them together, the super evil Shadow Destro  

Air-France is planning its first cross-Atlantic fligh t with its shiny new Airbus A380 jumbo jet but not all is rosy for Europe's largest airline. Air France-KLM has announced plans to trim 1,700 jobs next year following a worse-than-expected quarterly loss. The company is blaming the numbers on fuel hedging losses and poor cargo traffic.
